Nathan is a member of the Queen's law moot team that recently placed 2nd amongst 99 teams competing in the international ELSA competition held annually at the WTO in Geneva, Switzerland. Teams from six continents competed. Congratulations to Nathan and the Queen's team.

A delegation of 20 judges from High People’s Court, Intermediate People’s Courts and other courts in Fujian Province attended a presentation on legal systems and IP protection in Canada. The presentation was made by D&L Partner Dr. Sean X. Zhang, on January 25, 2016 at the Firm's office in downtown Toronto. A lively interactive discussion followed the presentation, exploring and debating pros and cons as reflected in the differences between the systems in Canada and China, and learning from the delegation the court practices and recent judicial reforms in China.
With the full retirement of David Dorsch and Michie Garland on December 31, 2015, the transition of their clients to Dale & Lessmann LLP is now complete.

Samuel H. Carsley has joined Dale & Lessmann LLP as an Associate in Corporate Commercial and Securities Law.
Sam joined Dale & Lessmann LLP as an associate in 2015 after practicing at another downtown Toronto firm. His practice focusses on corporate and commercial law and securities law. Sam has acted for clients in a number of industries such as technology, food manufacturing, natural resources, professional services and television production in matters ranging from day-to-day legal issues to transactional work.
Sam also has extensive experience in securities and corporate finance having acted for issuers in numerous forms of financing, takeovers and reorganizations as well as assisting with their continuous disclosure obligations and corporate governance issues.
In addition, Sam acts for early stage companies, assisting them in areas of corporate governance, corporate organizations, financing, commercial agreements and other contractual matters.
