Fluent in both English and German, Eric acts on behalf of a number of Dale & Lessmann's many European clients. Part of the Business Law practice group, Eric practices corporate and commercial law with an emphasis on Canadian-European cross-border business issues, including advising on corporate governance and shareholder rights, business and family succession, the acquisition, merger, financing and disposition of business and real estate assets, as well as the establishment of subsidiaries in the NAFTA marketplace.

Eric serves as a director on the boards of several well known Austrian and German and multi-national corporations.

With an undergraduate degree from Queen's University, Eric is a graduate of Dalhousie University's Law School and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1995. Upon being called to the Bar, Eric joined Dale & Lessmann as an Associate in 1995 and became a partner of the firm in 2001.

Eric is actively involved in the German-Canadian business community. He has served as a Director and as President of the German Canadian Business Professional Association. As well, Eric has served as a Director of the Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Eric is a member of the international and immigration law sections of the Canadian Bar Association, as well as a member of the Canadian German Lawyers Association. Currently Eric serves as a director of the Oakville Trafalgar Residents Association.

Both in Canada and Germany, Eric is a frequent lecturer to business delegations on legal issues arising from Canadian/German cross-border business. In September 2003, Eric was the key-note speaker to the German business delegation led by German Senate Leader Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Boehmer.

Eric also finds time to play squash at the Cambridge Club (Toronto) and is an avid skier and sailor.
